The Hairy ApeBy Eugene O'Neill
Directed by Eric Fraisher Hayes

One of the greatest American playwrights, recipient of the Noble Prize for Literature, and one-time San Ramon Valley resident, Eugene O’Neill creates an unforgettable expressionistic drama. Rough and rowdy Yank dominates his world. In an ocean liner’s engine room, he stokes coal with animal strength. He’s powerful, proud. He belongs. Until the horrified daughter of a wealthy industrialist topples brutish Yank’s sense of self. Raging against the machine, he takes to the streets of New York to search for his place in an indifferent, dehumanizing world

Lost In Yonkers
October 22 - November 13, 2010

Lost In YonkersBy Neil Simon
Directed by Robin Taylor

Neil Simon, the world’s most successful playwright, earned the Pulitzer Prize and the Tony Award for Best Play with this bittersweet coming-of-age "dramedy."

It’s the sizzling summer of 1942. World War II rages overseas. Young brothers Arty and Jay battle their personal home front when ne’er-do-well Pop dumps them at dictatorial Grandma Kurnitz’s apartment in Yonkers, New York. With a loving, mentally challenged aunt and a petty-thug uncle, the boys struggle for survival in Grandma’s harsh home. Results are both comical and poignant.

The Lion In Winter
January 21 - February 12, 2011

Lion In WinterBy James Goldman
Directed by Eric Fraisher Hayes

The Lion in Winter received three Tony Awards. The film adaptation earned seven Academy Awards, including Katharine Hepburn’s Best Actress.

“Well—what shall we hang? The holly or each other?” To celebrate Christmas 1183, King Henry II of England springs his captive wife, Eleanor of Aquitaine, from prison. Their three sons jostle for position as Henry’s successor. Eleanor schemes to land son Richard in the throne, while Henry plots to make young John his heir.

Dungeons and daggers. Political machinations. Sibling rivalry and love-hate relationships. With delicious wit and a dash of treason, this royal family puts the fun in dysfunction.

The Foreigner
April 15 - May 7 , 2011

The ForeignerBy Larry Shue
Directed by Chris Ayles

The Foreigner received two Obie Awards and two Outer Critics Circle Awards as Best New American Play and Best Off-Broadway Production.

Seems like a good idea at the time. Charlie’s been chained to his proofreader’s chair forever. He’s boring. Bit of a milquetoast. Poor gent’s pathologically shy. To fend off conversation at a rural Georgia fishing lodge, he pretends he doesn’t understand English. Best-laid plans farcically go awry when “the foreigner” mingles with a devious menagerie of locals. Laugh out loud as comedy enters front and center in this hilarious romp.
