Just in case you have not noticed, Role Players and Gore Vidal are here to remind you that we are in the middle of a Presidential Election.

Gore Vidal has always known how to keep us entertained, and our revival of his 1960 hit The Best Man, provides delightful proof that he knows his subject (American politics) and understands our cynical fascination with the political process.  You are bound to leave the theatre thinking “old Gore Vidal  said it best forty years ago.”

The often hilarious observations made here on the very different and often incompatible virtues of good statesmanship and good politics, have aged surprisingly well.  References to sexual escapades and to the role of God in campaigning are guaranteed to evoke smiles of recognition.
